Kao Lab Research
The Kao lab seeks to understand the basic pathophysiological mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative diseases.
Overview
The goal of our research is to use C. elegans and other model organisms to better understand and ultimately cure neurodegenerative disease. We focus on progranulin and tau in the regulation of programmed cell death, cellular stress responses, innate immunity and other processes. We strive to make the laboratory environment one that is based on excellence, a team-oriented approach and one that seeks out innovations, collaborations and change.
